The SHSU 咨询中心 provides individual, 夫妻, and group therapy to students who are currently enrolled. Our mission is to provide service within the university environment that contributes to the academic success, 个人成长, and positive social contribution of 山姆 Houston State University students. We embrace a student-oriented philosophy that is respectful of diversity and is committed to the development of the student as a whole person.

The SHSU 咨询中心 expresses our grief, 悲伤, and compassion to all those who have been impacted by the hate-based tragedies that have been occurring across our country. 咨询中心 team condemns oppression in all its forms.

We acknowledge that for members of impacted communities witnessing these events as they unfold may be continuously re-traumatizing. In the aftermath of experiencing or witnessing trauma, it is normal to experience a wide range of feelings and emotions, 比如休克, 恐惧, 悲伤, 愤怒, helplessness or guilt.  We are committed to supporting all of our students who have been directly or indirectly impacted. We encourage you to contact our office if you (or someone you know) would like support with coping and healing.
